Korona Kielce signs new striker
Korona Kielce officially announced the arrival of Vladimir Nikolov. The 24‑year‑old Bulgarian, a four‑time international, signed a contract until the end of 2027 after passing medical tests. The transfer was a cash deal because Nikolov still has six months left on his contract with Slavia Sofia.
Why is Nikolov a key acquisition?
Last season Nikolov played 32 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists. His 192 cm height and experience in European competitions give Korona an extra dimension up front. Coach Jacek Zieliński has repeatedly stressed the need for two top‑class forwards after the departures of Jiewgienij Szykawka and Adrian Dalmau.
What do fans and staff expect?
Supporters are hoping for an immediate impact. Korona Kielce currently sits 11th in the Ekstraklasa with 43 points from 34 games (11W‑10D‑13L) and most recently drew 1‑1 with Cracovia on 23 May 2026. The club trails league leaders Lech Poznań by 17 points and needs goals to close the gap. Nikolov could break the recent DWLDD run.
What’s next after the transfer?
After signing, Nikolov joined the first training session under Zieliński. The coach says the new striker will be integrated into the attacking system right away, potentially opening space for younger talents like Danyło Krawczuk. The season is winding down, so every point matters – and the new forward may help secure the club’s top‑flight status.
Current stats: Korona Kielce is 11th in the Ekstraklasa with 43 points and a goal balance of 40‑40. The latest result was a 1‑1 draw with Cracovia on 23‑05‑2026.
